About Murphy's Bar
Murphy's Bar is a traditional Irish pub on High Street, in the heart of Galway city. It dates from the middle of the 1800s. Philip Murphy bought the bar in 1931 after returning from America, and the Murphy family ran it for three generations before Louis Fitzgerald bought it in 2022, keeping its traditions. Stained glass partitions and old Irish snugs give the pub its homely feel. The pub hosts office parties, celebrations and launches for groups of up to 150, with finger food and music available.
