BEFORE YOU BOOK

No register applies
No UK nation — England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland — licenses or registers car wrap installers. The wrap must be fitted with reasonable care and skill under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including not damaging the paint.
Agree the film, the coverage and the price in writing. citizensadvice.org.uk →
Tell DVLA about a colour change
If the wrap changes the car's colour, the V5C registration certificate must be updated — colour is one of the details DVLA says you must tell it about. It is your job as keeper, not the installer's.
Update the V5C once the work is done, and tell your insurer. gov.uk →
Trader status and a written quote
Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply when you deal with a trader. For a car wrap installer, settle the price up front: where none was agreed you need pay only a reasonable sum, and Citizens Advice says an installer may keep the vehicle over a disputed bill but not sell it.
Check the trader badge on the Locufy profile and keep the quote message. citizensadvice.org.uk →
VAT
A vinyl wrap, film and fitting, is standard-rated at 20%. Among car wrap installers, any with taxable turnover above £90,000 must be registered, add the VAT and show it apart from the net figure.
Ask the wrap shop for its VAT number and whether the price includes the 20%. gov.uk →
A good answer: A named film with its expected life.
A good answer: A clear answer; unwrapped shuts show the old colour.
A good answer: Removing them gives cleaner edges.
A good answer: An honest assessment; poor paint can lift with the wrap on removal.
A good answer: Clear aftercare advice — hand wash, no harsh brushes.
A good answer: In writing: lifting, bubbling and fading.
A good answer: On sound factory paint, usually yes; ask about removal cost.

AFTER
When the job is done
Hiring a car wrap installer: questions people ask
No. No UK nation licenses wrap installers. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires the fitting to be done with reasonable care and skill.
If the wrap changes the car's colour, yes — colour is a detail DVLA requires you to update on the V5C. Tell your insurer too.
An invoice naming the film, and the warranty. There is no certificate.
Expect £1,500–£3,500 per car, around £2,975 on average. Our car wrapping price guide has the detail, and your postcode above brings up car wrap installers close to you.
On sound factory paint, a good film fitted and removed properly should not. Resprayed or damaged paint can lift.
Tell the installer in writing with photos. You can require the work to be redone under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
