About The Villager Bar & Restaurant
The Villager Bar & Restaurant is in the heart of Glasson village, near Athlone, and it is a bar, restaurant and garden venue. It is run by a local husband and wife team, Chef Cathal Moran and Maeve Lennon, with their family. The kitchen serves wholesome rustic food, with an à la carte menu, a blackboard of specials and set menus for larger parties. The traditional front bar has a snug locally known as the 'Ass Market', and there is music on Saturday nights after dinner. The garden venue is fully covered with heating, and it hosts parties from birthdays to weddings. You can eat in, and booking in advance is recommended.
