What moves the price
- Area treated — a lip or chin sugaring takes minutes, while full legs take far longer
- Intimate sugaring — Brazilian and Hollywood sugaring are priced above a bikini line
- Specialist skill — fewer therapists are trained in sugaring paste, which keeps prices firm
- Hair regrowth — a first sugaring session on long, coarse hair takes more time
- Location — London and South East sugaring prices run higher than elsewhere
- Packages — booking several sugaring areas together lowers the price per area
Hairdressing prices in the UK are up 26% over five years (ONS Consumer Price Inflation, Hairdressing and personal grooming establishments, to 2026 August). Five years ago a typical sugaring would have cost about £20 — an estimate from today's guide price and that index, not a recorded price. Source: ONS MM23 D7EY →

How to pay less
- Book several sugaring areas together to get a lower combined sugaring price
- Return every four to six weeks so sugaring regrowth stays fine and quick to remove
- Ask about a sugaring course of sessions, which some studios price below single visits
Before you book
- Let hair grow to about a few millimetres before sugaring, roughly two weeks
- Skip exfoliation, sunbeds and fake tan on the area for a day before sugaring
- Tell the therapist about any skin condition or medication that thins the skin
- Check the studio uses fresh sugaring paste for each client and disposable gloves
