The Bach is a brunch and coffee spot on Albert Square in Meadowside, Dundee, where the owners have been serving brunch and coffee for ten years. The name comes from a bach, a simple holiday home in Aotearoa New Zealand, meant for slowing down and eating well with whānau and friends. Today the kitchen also cooks over kanaku, the Māori word for fire, so the menu leans on fire cooking and Kiwi barbecue. Steven and Wendy draw on food from everywhere they have lived, travelled and eaten. Dishes include corn fritters with chipotle chilli jam, eggs Benedict, and a plate of bachmade sausage, bacon, black pudding and free range eggs. There is a taproom with good beer, and you can eat in or take away.
