About Skylark
Skylark is a café and restaurant on Grove Road in Eastbourne, taken over in the summer of 2025 by owners who grew up in the town. Brunch dishes are cooked with produce from local suppliers and paired with coffee from Plot Roasters, while the lunch menu changes from week to week, shaped by what suppliers recommend and written on a blackboard. Inspiration is drawn from the South Downs, and pictures of the surrounding countryside are available to buy in the room. The team also supports Prept, a Sussex-based charity that helps young people build cooking skills through hands-on sessions. In the evenings a candlelit menu of small and large plates features Sussex pork belly and fish caught nearby, with vegetarian and vegan dishes built on vegetables from Shrub. You can eat in or take away.
