About County Arms Birr
County Arms Birr is a Georgian hotel in the heritage town of Birr, County Offaly. The Georgian house was first built in 1809 as a family home called Moorpark House, and it opened to travellers in 1962. The hotel came under new local ownership in 2019, and its interiors have been refurbished while keeping the heritage features. Hackett's Eatery serves fresh cooked local produce, a wine list and a large hot and cold breakfast buffet, and Bar 62 is for a bite and a pint. Afternoon tea is served in the Georgian Drawing Room, and the Shaker Room serves craft cocktails. The grounds are home to native and exotic trees, and the hotel has a leisure club.
